My Words

So what do I write about? What inspires me and what genres do I like to write within?

Well… just about anything I guess. To date I have written scripts that include a Western, a teenage drama, an adult drama and two family films, one of which is the project I am currently working on.

I also have ideas for Sci-Fi, Horror and Comedy and would like to try them all. However, I do find myself drawn to the Family genre as I love watching great family films with the kids and enjoy the simple, yet classical story frameworks that they are often hung on. They tend to contain stories and themes we are all familiar with but that doesn’t mean they have to be formulaic or repetitive. On the contrary, recent efforts by Pixar, Dreamworks and Disney prove there is life on the old dog yet – I think Frozen did pretty well in the end?
